CH Kolaneka Mazda 1937 gldn and white
2nd yellow American Champion
-- finished 8-44 (AKC reg'd in 11-45)
When bred to his daughter Mar-Ja Penny (gldn), the first litter (7-15-43) was recorded as two "golden", and two "golden yellow". When the breeding was repeated (7-17-44), two puppies were recorded as "golden brown" (dark yellow) and three puppies were recorded as black. Whether this was a mismating or one of the rare legitimate cases of black puppies being produced by two yellow parents (which can happen when the gene for white spotting is present), no one will ever know.
Argus Leader 1937 gldn (FDSB)
